In development — iOS TestFlight first

Plan the trip.
Pack the confidence.

Roam Guru is a trip readiness app for groups. Shared gear lists, menus you reuse, and one clear answer to the question everybody asks the night before: are we actually ready?

The problem

Group trips fall apart in the last 48 hours

Not because anyone is careless — because the plan lives in six places. One person has the gear list, someone else is handling food, the dates are in a calendar invite, and nobody can say whether the second tent is actually in the car. Roam Guru puts that in one place, and keeps it there between trips.

How it works

Three things it does well

Narrow on purpose. It is not an itinerary builder and it does not book anything.

Readiness you can see

A trip shows how ready it actually is — what is packed, what is planned, and what is still outstanding — instead of making you reconstruct it from a group chat the night before.

Kits you build once

Gear lists and menus live in your library, not inside a single trip. Attach them to the next trip, switch off what does not apply, and stop rewriting the same packing list every spring.

Built for a group

Invite the people coming and see who has confirmed, so the trip carries the load rather than the one person who always organises it. Gear checkoff records who actually ticked the box.

Straight answers

Where the app actually is

Roam Guru is early. Rather than have you find that out after installing it, here is the real state of things.

Working today

  • Accounts, with sign-in and full account deletion.
  • Trips: create, plan, browse, and archive past trips.
  • Gear lists and menus in a reusable library, attachable to any trip.
  • Trip gear checklists, recording who checked off what and when.
  • Friends and trip invites, saved on the server.
  • Readiness view, categories, trash with restore, and awards.

Not real yet

  • Weather, hazards, maps and nearby places are placeholder content, shown as product direction.
  • Trip chat is a preview — messages do not reach anyone.
  • The profile screen is largely demo content.
  • Flights, lodging and trip documents are not built at all.

Anything unfinished is labelled inside the app too. You should never have to guess which parts are real.

Beta

Founding testers keep free access

The first round of TestFlight testers gets the app with no paywall, and stays free permanently if a paid tier ever arrives. That is recorded on your account the day you sign up rather than reconstructed later from an invite list, so it cannot quietly go missing.

The core of Roam Guru — planning a trip, knowing whether you are ready, and getting your group aligned — is not the part that would ever sit behind a paywall. Safety-adjacent features never will either.
